Graham Lovelady, Counseling Intern
Hello! I am a son, a friend, and a husband. My passion is to help others live more fully so that they can be fully engaged wherever they are. Since 2022, I have been working with individuals in various ministry-related and therapeutic contexts. Empathy and teamwork form the foundation of the therapeutic bond, and together, we can tackle the challenges that life presents.
As a current master's level intern, I approach counseling as a collaborative process where, together, we can understand how past experiences and relationships shape who we are today and establish hope and healing for the future.
My therapeutic approach flows out of the belief that we are all made to live fully in relationships with others and ourselves. However, to live fully means that we will undoubtedly experience pain and loss. These key emotional and relational experiences shape how we interact with the world around us. Through the counseling process we can begin to reconnect to our deepest desires, needs, and longings so that we can begin to live more fully as we are and be fully engaged with the world around us. My counseling is informed by attachment and emotionally focused theories.
“When a person realizes he has been deeply heard, his eyes moisten. I think in some real sense he is weeping for joy. It is as though he were saying, ‘Thank God, somebody heard me. Someone knows what it’s like to be me.’”
