Everyone has a story, but sometimes we need someone to help us to make sense of our own. When we explore how our past impacts our present, we can begin to understand why we feel stuck or why we react in certain ways, especially in our most valued relationships. A new, integrated understanding of ourselves can lead to hope, growth, and repair within ourselves and in our relationships.
Reaching out for help can feel vulnerable, but it’s also deeply courageous to take that first step. I will meet you with validation, compassion, and a safe space to process your thoughts and emotions. I am especially motivated to help clients (including couples) who are experiencing relational distress or codependency, parenting children with unique needs, healing from grief and loss, processing religious trauma or spiritual struggles, navigating life transitions, or seeking to understand family-of-origin wounds. I can also provide premarital counseling.
I am a recent graduate of Richmont Graduate University with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and certificates in Marriage and Family Therapy and Spiritual Formation. I have also worked as a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC), and this work helped my tune my ear to hear the nuances of a client's story and name what may be unspoken or unrecognized. I also have training in the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy. If you'd like more information on working with me, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if we may be a good fit.
